FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When you work with Virtually Everything, you receive all of
the benefits of having a wordsmith, graphic and web designer, and a top notch administrative assistant without incurring the
costs of having
employees.
Q. What is a Virtual Assistant?
A. A Virtual Assistant (or "VA") is an independent
contractor who provides business support without being physically
present in your office. Technological advancements have made it possible to
perform support services from remote locations via the internet
and other means of electr nic communication.
Q. What is the difference
between a virtual assistant and an office assistant?
A. Virtual
assistants are entrepreneurs who partner with you to achieve your goals.
In addition to clerical skills,
many VAs can provide a wider variety of services than the
traditional assistant, by incorporating desktop publishing,
website design, internet research, writing or other specialty
skills. It also allows us to specialize in the areas we find most
interesting.
Virtually Everything specializes in wordsmithing, graphic and web design, and administrative assistance.

Another important distinction between a VA and an office assistant
is that the office assistant is an employee for whom you must pay
taxes and provide benefits, plus provide office space,
furniture, equipment and software. The VA is an
independent contractor responsible for the payment of their own
taxes, benefits, etc.
Q. What are
the benefits of hiring a VA?
A. The benefits are numerous:
- Your VA is interested in your business and
will often suggest ways of further assisting you in its
growth.
- Your VA has unlimited resources at her fingertips, with the
ability to collaborate with other VAs in a wide variety of
areas.
- Your VA is an independent contractor, thereby eliminating
the payment of regular salary or employment benefits.
- The need for additional office space, equipment or furniture
is eliminated.
- No supervision or training is required. Your VA is a
self-starter who has the skills necessary to perform the tasks
needed.
- You determine what you want your VA to do for you, and you
pay only for the time spent on your assignments.
Q. Who could benefit from hiring a VA?
A. Virtually everyone could benefit:
- New business startups with limited capital
- Small companies with limited budgets
- Store owners
- Traveling sales people
- Organizations, clubs and societies
- Professionals and executives
- Realtors
- Coaches
- and everybody else that wears all the hats.
